SPARKGROUNDS was founded by Carla and Richard Hay, longtime Celebration residents, educators, and program designers, with a simple belief: children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful work.
We offer hands-on STEM, robotics, engineering, science, art, technology, makerspace, and creative learning experiences for students ages 3–17 throughout Osceola, Orange, Polk, and Lake Counties. Whether a student is building a robot, conducting a chemistry experiment, designing a 3D printed creation, creating a stop-motion film, or developing a game, the goal is never simply to complete an activity. The goal is to develop curiosity, teamwork, confidence, craftsmanship, leadership, and the ability to overcome and solve problems.
Our programs are built around the idea that children become capable by doing. Students are trusted with real tools, real materials, real challenges, and real responsibility. They learn to work with others, persist through setbacks, overcome challenges, and create things that matter.
Students design, build, test, revise, and improve real projects—not just complete activities.
Mistakes, redesigns, and unexpected outcomes are expected. Learning happens through iteration.
Students spend less time watching and more time making, programming, designing, experimenting, and building.
Students are trusted with tools, materials, projects, and roles that build independence and confidence.
Creativity and technical skill are not opposites. The best solutions often require both.
Confidence is built through persistence and meaningful accomplishments—not by avoiding challenges.
SPARKGROUNDS partners with HOAs, schools, homeschool groups, libraries, and community organizations throughout Central Florida to bring hands-on STEM, robotics, science, art, and makerspace programs directly to the families they serve.
Whether you’re looking for a weekly enrichment program, STEM night, homeschool offering, summer camp, workshop series, or special event, we can create a program that fits your community. We provide all materials, equipment, and experienced facilitators. Programs can be customized for groups of five to fifty or more students.
