Unleash your child's potential with our exciting 15-class series designed just for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students! This action-packed program offers a hands-on introduction to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through engaging individual and group projects.

Watch as your child explores foundational science concepts and experiments with a variety of art styles and techniques. Each class kicks off and wraps up with creative free art time, giving kids the freedom to imagine and invent. Our fast-paced, diverse curriculum ensures your child gets a dynamic overview of each subject, sparking their curiosity and enthusiasm. This is an introductory course similar in design to our STE(A)M Collaborations class, but with completely different topics and projects. No previous experience is needed. All materials are provided, and students will be able to bring home their projects--as well as the knowledge needed to continue their work and explorations at home.

After enrolling, parents or guardians will be sent a liability release that includes expectations and rules. That document must be returned before the first class meeting. Partial, pro-rated refunds are always provided should a child unenroll before the end of the class.

This class is approved for the PEP and FES scholarships and can be purchased here or directly on the Step Up website.

• WEEK #1: TOY BLOCK PRINTING: Use toy blocks to create a stamp-based painting before embellishing the painting with drawing.
• WEEK #2: INVISIBLE DRAWINGS: Learn the science behind invisible ink before creating a secret masterpiece.
• WEEK #3: WATERCOLOR FLOOD: Create a line drawing before gaining an understanding of watercolors by filling in the picture.
• WEEK #4: SUN PRINTS: Use a variety of objects to create a picture that is printed by the sun.
• WEEK #5: SCRAP PAPER PICTURE: Combine torn paper scraps to tell a story through an image or scene.
• WEEK #6: THE SCIENCE OF BUBBLES: Work to understand why plain water can't make bubbles before creating and testing a variety of bubble-making solutions.
• WEEK #7: SCRIBBLE ART: After filling a page with scribbles, use imagination to turn those scribbles into a recognizable and detailed image.
• WEEK #8: BLOCK TOWERS: Work together to create the tallest and strongest tower using specially designed blocks that can be stacked in a variety of ways.
• WEEK #9: YARN ART: Learn the basics of 3D printing by using yarn to construct a three dimensional picture.
• WEEK #10: BUILD A BIRD FEEDER - PART 1: In an activity that combines art and engineering, build a bird house that is designed to attract neighborhood birds.
• WEEK #11: BUILD A BIRD FEEDER - PART 2: Finish the design and construction of the bird house.
• WEEK #12: CLASSROOM MURAL: Work together with a variety of mediums to create a huge mural for the classroom.
• WEEK #13: HYDROPONIC GARDEN: Combine recycled materials to create (and understand) a hydroponic garden.
• WEEK #14: HALF PORTRAITS: Use crayons to fill in the missing half of a photograph self portrait.
• WEEK #15: GINGERBREAD CONSTRUCTIONS: Work with parents and guardians to engineer a gingerbread creation before having an end-of-class party!
