Ready for Liftoff? Build and Launch Your Own Model Rocket!
Join a crew of fellow space explorers for an exciting, instructor-led, two-hour workshop where young engineers will design, build, and paint a real working model rocket! The workshop takes place at Celebration's Heritage Hall from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
Along the way, kids will dive into the science of rocketry—learning about aerodynamics, propulsion, and rocket design through fun, hands-on activities and guided experiments. With expert support, they’ll even run simulated launches to understand how real rockets take flight!
After crafting and customizing their rockets, participants will explore the safest ways and best locations to launch them. Each young rocketeer will go home with a fully assembled rocket and all the materials needed for a real launch.
And don’t worry—we’ve got lunch covered to keep their engines running!
NOTE: Students will leave the workshop with a fully-built, working model rocket and with the stand and engines necessary to launch it. Launches take place once a month in Ocala and Lakeland at authorized launch sites. Rockets cannot legally be launched in Celebration.
All materials and lunch are included. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity and get ready for a high-flying adventure packed with creativity, learning, and rocket-powered fun! This workshop is designed for 3rd through 12th graders. Guardians are required to complete our waiver before the event.
In-Person Events do require a minimum number of participants. Should that minimum not be reached, the event will be canceled and all registration fees refunded. All events are led by professionally trained and insured staff who have passed a Level 2 background check.
