Touch. Test. Build. Learn by Doing.

Young students learn best by doing—by building, creating, testing, and exploring. The STE(A)M Explorations Workshop is designed specifically for Pre-K and Kindergarten students to experience science, engineering, and art together in a way that makes sense at this age.

Participants work through hands-on activities that blend building, simple engineering, creative expression, and early scientific thinking. They might construct, mix, test, design, or create—but every activity is intentional. Students aren’t just “doing projects”—they are beginning to understand how things work, how materials behave, and how their ideas can take shape in the real world.

Art and STEM are combined by design. At this age, creativity and technical thinking aren’t separate—they reinforce each other. Students draw, build, experiment, and iterate in ways that develop both imagination and early problem-solving skills.

Each session introduces new materials, new challenges, and new ways to explore. Returning students don’t repeat the same work—they build confidence, take on more complex tasks, and deepen their understanding over time. A first-time student might be exploring basic building or simple cause-and-effect; a returning student might be planning, adjusting, and refining their approach with more independence.

This is a real STEM class—appropriately designed for young learners. Activities are guided by experienced instructors who understand how to balance structure and exploration, when to step in, and when to let students discover on their own.

  • Builds early STEM thinking through hands-on exploration and creation
  • Integrates art, engineering, and science in a way that matches how young students learn
  • Led by experienced instructors who specialize in working with this age group
  • Designed for both new and returning students, with progression over time
  • Encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence through real, meaningful work

Classes meet every other week, giving students time to absorb, reflect, and return ready to build and explore again. For a full Wednesday experience, pair this workshop with our two-hour, Open Makerspace Club and keep your child engaged, creating, and learning every week.
