Discover. Design. Express. Every Class Is a New Adventure in Art!

In this engaging, project-based series, students dive into both 2D and 3D art, exploring everything from drawing and painting to sculpture and mixed media. Each session introduces new styles, artists, and techniques as students learn through experimentation and creative play. Along the way, they’ll study the stories and methods of contemporary artists—discovering how meaning and technique come together to shape the art of today.

Spring 2026 Topics

• Week 1: Introduction to Line, Shape & Pattern — Bauhaus / Modernist Foundations
• Week 2: Impressionism — Color, Light & Brushwork
• Week 3: Pointillism — Dots, Color Theory & Optical Mixing
• Week 4: Cubism — Seeing From Multiple Angles
• Weeks 5-6: Surrealism — Dream Imagery, Symbolism & Mixed Media
• Week 7-9: Pop Art & Street Art — Bold Color, Everyday Icons, Repetition

All materials are included in this bi-weekly class and students will take home most projects. Whether your child is an experienced young artist or just beginning to explore their creativity, they’ll find a place to create, collaborate, and grow.

Guardians are required to complete our waiver before the first club meeting--if they haven't already done so for a different SPARKGROUNDS event. All events are led by professionally trained and insured staff who have passed a Level 2 background check. Students can withdraw from a class series at any time simply by emailing us and prorated refunds are always provided automatically.
