Code. Compete. Create. Every Session Is a New Mission in Robotics!

This isn’t a sit-and-watch class. Students take the lead as they build, program, and control BOLT+ and mBot2 robots to navigate mazes, complete obstacle courses, and tackle team-based challenges. Along the way, they’ll develop logical thinking, spatial awareness, and creative problem-solving--all essential 21st-century skills.

Each session features new missions and escalating challenges to keep students engaged and growing, no matter their experience level--and the challenges build even if students have already taken robotics with SPARKGROUNDS as students move from Sphero bots to Makeblock advanced robotics. Classes focus on both block and Python programming--teaching children the language of robotics and AI.

Spring 2026 Topics

• Week 1: Foundations Refresh — “Precision Driving & Shape Programming”
• Week 2: Sensors & Logic — “Sphero Obstacle Escape and mBot2 Construction”
• Week 3: Robotic Construction: Build a Real Robot
• Week 4: Engineering Challenge — “Sphero Bridge Crosser and mBot2 Environment Escape”
• Weeks 5-6: “Sphero Automation and mBot2 Arduino Programming”
• Week 7-9: Capstone Robotics Build Challenge

Whether your child is brand new to robotics or already coding like a pro, they’ll find a place to belong, explore, and thrive.

Guardians are required to complete our waiver before the first club meeting--if they haven't already done so for a different SPARKGROUNDS event. All events are led by professionally trained and insured staff who have passed a Level 2 background check. Students can withdraw from a class series at any time simply by emailing us and prorated refunds are always provided automatically.
