Makerspace Inventors (HS)

Design. Build. Invent. Every Week Is a New Adventure in Creativity!

Unlike traditional classes, Makerspace Workshops are open-format sessions built around weekly challenges--not lectures. With guidance from SPARKGROUNDS staff, students work independently or in teams to solve creative problems, invent new devices, and bring bold ideas to life using tools like 3D printers, circuits, workshop materials, and more.

No two sessions in this bi-weekly class are ever the same (even if a student has already taken Makerspace Inventors Club!)--and every project is designed to grow with your child’s age, interests, and experience level.

Spring 2026 Topics

• Week 1: Glow-Motion Cardboard Robots
• Week 2: Magnetic Maze With Light Goal
• Week 3: Mini Thumb Piano With Contact Pickup
• Week 4: Zip-Line Delivery Challenge with 3D Printed Payload
• Weeks 5-6: Wearable Tech: Light-Up Wristband or Badge
• Week 7-9: Wind-Powered + Motor-Assisted Vehicle

This workshop is perfect for tinkerers, artists, inventors, and problem-solvers of all kinds. Whether your child is interested in building structures, coding animations, or crafting one-of-a-kind inventions, they’ll find a space to thrive and grow at SPARKGROUNDS.

Guardians are required to complete our waiver before the first club meeting--if they haven't already done so for a different SPARKGROUNDS event. All events are led by professionally trained and insured staff who have passed a Level 2 background check. Students can withdraw from a class series at any time simply by emailing us and prorated refunds are always provided automatically.
